Just finished reading ‘The Sender’. LOVED it! Didn’t want to put it down nor for it to end! Extremely likeable characters & an intriguing plot. Enjoyed your metaphors & similes. Well written. Loved the lessons & values in it. Thanks for the hours of entertaining escapism – in fact, it was as if you HAD sent a card, as I needed to switch off from my own cares for a while! A wonderful read!

If you want to read a book with a ‘feel-good’ factor, look no further! What an uplifting book to read! Once I had started reading this book, I was captured by it and was eager to continue on the exciting journey of the characters and their families depicted in the book. To my mind, this book is original and leaves the reader with the ‘feel-good’ factor. It keeps the reader guessing right until the very end. The book provokes a range of emotions and deals with a variety of issues at all different levels. Overall, it is warming and ultimately left me with a smile on my face. It is inspiring and I would definitely recommend it. It exceeded my expectations.

This is a wonderful gem of a book. Well written and so easy to read. I didn’t want to put it down; you are drawn into each of the character’s stories. I have thought about this book and its inspirational message long after finishing the last page. A must read.

Engaging, fresh and feel-good. I was so eager to return to this novel time and again – whenever I put it down, I found myself thinking about the characters and their respective dilemmas. The original overarching plot kept me hooked, and the individual stories within it also kept me turning the pages, wanting to know more about the well-drawn, authentic and engaging characters. Many reviewers here have outlined the plot, so I won’t waste time repeating what others have done so well, but I want to echo that it is well structured and keeps you hooked until the final reveal. The author has a fresh and original voice, and I’m very much looking forward to reading more of her work. Five stars. Buy it!

Love love love this book. With everything thrown at the key characters they come up fighting and inspired/buoyed by their anonymous talisman that arrived in the post in such an inane and random way. It clearly is a symbol of the inner strength each woman already possesses and inspires all of us to realise the strengths we already have within us. And its so lovely to be reminded that we need to let our loved ones know that we have their back that we’re in their corner, no matter whether they consciously realise it or not. Such a timely reminder to be kind to one another, to never assume you know what’s going on behind someone’s else’s door or eyes. We’re all managing struggles of one or another or several at the same time, but small gestures can hold immeasurable power. Would make a fabulous gift to another woman, a talisman of its own, or a great and complex yarn to dissect at a book club. Highly recommend this read and can’t wait to see what comes next from this author.
